Conference Tracks for 2013

We welcome your submission to one or both of the two tracks, Teach Different and Think Different. When you submit, you will be asked to specify the track you think is most appropriate for your proposal(s).

Teach Different
The Teach Different track focuses on teaching methods and learning activities. (To view a sample created from an OBTC 2012 proposal, please click here.) Proposals relating to specific discipline content are best placed in this track. For example:

• an experiential exercise you’d like to share
• a different way to administer exams
• a case study you’ve developed
• a different approach to a common topic in your discipline
• service learning activities that make a difference

Think Different
The Think Different track is designed to focus on teaching and learning philosophies, current debates and controversies, or even emerging paradigm shifts - those things that may surround the practice of learning but are less directly related to “doing”. (To view a sample created from an OBTC 2012 proposal, please click here.) For example:

• a philosophy of classroom protocol you’d like to discuss
• an exploration of different curriculum approaches
• a review of best practices in developing assessment plans
• a comparison of different teaching philosophies
• a debate about the kind of difference we should be making in students’ lives
